Reflections from the Road
A gentle book for when the world feels too loud.
Stories of connection. Pages to color. And a simple way to support ABLE Radio Lab—where people with disabilities learn to tell their own stories.
Nomad Santa started when a child mistook me for Santa — a tiny moment that never let go. It became It’s a Small World, and We’re All Neighbours, a book about noticing, belonging, and the quiet threads that connect us.

The Story Fund — Stories That Travel
Every voice starts as a whisper. Your support helps it travel.
The Story Fund helps people step into the studio—those with stories worth hearing
but few chances to share them.
Each act of support fuels tools, time, and mentorship that turn quiet courage into stories that travel.
🎙 Story Workshops
Where courage meets craft. In small, guided sessions, new storytellers learn to shape their lived experience into sound — writing, voicing, and editing with support.
Your gift opens a seat in the circle where stories begin.
🎧 Creative Mentorship
Step by step, voice by voice. Mentors walk beside each creator as they grow their confidence and skill, turning quiet ideas into finished work.
Your support pairs emerging voices with patient, skilled guides.
💻 Studio Access
A virtual space for focus, feedback, and belonging. From kitchen tables to quiet corners, storytellers connect, create, and share their work in community.
Your support keeps this shared studio open—where distance is no longer a barrier to being heard.
Every Story Matters
Every story starts with someone who believes it matters.
When you buy the book or give to The Story Fund, you’re helping new storytellers find their voice in a world that often forgets to listen. Together we’re keeping the airwaves open — a box-free zone where everyone belongs.
“Diversity is having a seat at the table.
Inclusion is having a voice. Belonging is having that voice be heard.
Belonging means more than just fitting in — it means feeling safe and supported in bringing everything that makes you unique to the conversation.”
A widely shared quote that has been adapted and adopted as a guiding principle of this project.

FAQ
What is The Story Fund?
It’s a community-supported scholarship fund that helps keep virtual workshops and mentorships affordable—or free—for emerging storytellers. Every contribution lowers barriers, covering the real costs of access, guidance, and connection so new voices can be heard.
Is this a nonprofit?
Yes. KDSTR Radio Corp is a 30-year-old 501(c)(3) nonprofit. ABLE Radio Lab is one of its core projects, focused on access, mentorship, and belonging through story. Every dollar supports training and participation—not overhead or equipment.
Can I support both the book and The Story Fund?
Absolutely. Both move the same mission forward.
Book purchases share the message and sustain the project, while donations to The Story Fund are tax-deductible and go directly toward free workshops and mentorships for new storytellers.
Where can I hear the stories created through the program?
The ABLE Radio Lab Podcast Portal will launch soon, sharing stories, reflections, and new voices as they’re produced. The Nomad Santa project is already live on Substack. You can also join the ABLE Radio Lab distlist to stay current on releases, workshops, and ways to take part.
Can I join the team?
Yes. There are many ways to get involved—from Founding Partner to Community Partner, mentor, or volunteer. Each role helps grow a space where everyone’s story can be heard. Reach out through the contact form or sign up below to learn how you can contribute your time, talent, or network.
